Who Is This For?
The academy is ideal for new (or soon to be) team managers and team leaders, or those who have been promoted but not received any training yet.

The Modules
The academy has 12 modules. The modules are similar to the ones we deliver during our one-day in-person training courses. The only difference is that, in this academy, we are able to go deeper into the subject because we aren't restricted to the usual 09:00 - 17:00 timings. The modules are as follows:
- Management Skills
- Leadership Skills
- Managing Time More Effectively
- Communications Skills
- Recruitment and Selection Skills
- Culture and Managing Change
- HR Skills for Managers
- Coaching Skills
- Team Building Skills
- Dealing With Difficult People and Conflict Management
- Meeting and Appraisal Skills
- Mentoring Skills

Supporting Information
Each topic above is split into various relevant sections. Each section comes with at least one video tutorial from Adrian Close (introduction below). In the video, the learner will be guided through the topic in a logical order. Most videos come with supporting information, a work sheet and tasks for each learner to complete. There are areas where the learners can pause the video and complete the work. The activities are designed to make a difference straight away and we've always had great feedback.

The Virtual Support
All the learners join a private Facebook group. Each week there is an 'ask me anything' post where the learners can ask their questions regarding the particular topic they are learning or a particular issue they need advice and support on. All the questions will be answered on a Facebook live by Adrian a day or so after, usually the questions are posed on Tuesday and answered on a Thursday to give everyone time. The lives are recorded so can be watched when the learner is ready and obviously helps with different time zones. There will also be the opportunity to join in on live Zoom sessions which are designed to offer more support - all the above for just £699 per person

Accountability
With all the training we deliver (in person or face to face), it's vital that the learners are held accountable for achieving the training goals set out at the beginning of the program.
Within the academy, the learners are held accountable in two ways. Firstly, there is an accountability group where the learners are held accountable by the tutor. Secondly, there is a pack available to download by the learners line manager which explains where the learner should be at any given time and what they should have achieved. We advise the learner and their manager to get together once a month to discuss how the training is making an impact.
Adrian Close - Multi-award winning business manager and Leadership Trainer Consultant
I also deliver a 12 month face to face training program for groups of upto 12
Hi I'm Adrian.
I've been a freelance leadership and management training consultant for around 20 years. I've delivered full day (and shorter) training courses to clients all over the UK and even ventured onto mainland Europe a few times.
I specialise in leadership, management, coaching and HR training and I've also worked as a multi-award winning manager/leader for other people's businesses as well as my own, so I teach from bloody nose experience rather than ivory tower philosophy and bring the training to life with real stories. Like the one when a team member took me to an industrial tribunal court, I represented myself and won! This isn't to try and impress people, this is to impress on them that a supportive, structured and documented approach to managing the human resources of a team is vital.
When delivering training in person, I concentrate on my 12-month action focused leadership and management program which is the foundation of this academy. I've had more and more enquiries from team members from all industries, in various countries, asking to join an open leadership program, which unfortunately I can not allow it because they are delivered to other people's businesses and we cover sensitive information.
This is why I created the academy, so team members who are looking for training just for themselves don't miss out on the learning.
A little bit more about me:
I've published 6 physical books (two of which are hiking guides) and a whole list of training tools, workbooks and team-building activity E-Books which sell all over the world via my online book store. When I'm not working I'm usually found in the hills of the Peak District, the Lakedistrict and north Wales. I've recently qualified as a Hill and Moorland leader and am working my way to becoming an International Mountain Leader. I volunteer for a local Duke of Edinburg group supporting the young adults through their bronze and silver awards and have volunteered for mountain rescue for 7 years.
And that's me. I'm looking forward to getting to know you in the academy when you join.
